Privacy notice

How personal information is handled when you contact me through this website. Last updated 26 October 2026.

Who is responsible

This website is the personal website of Hloriso Mohale, who is responsible for the personal information you submit through it. You can contact me about privacy through the enquiry form.

What I collect, and why

When you send an enquiry through the contact form, I receive the information you enter: your full name, email address, cellphone number, organisation (if you provide it), the type of enquiry, a subject and your message.

I use this information only to read, respond to and follow up on your enquiry — for example, to discuss a speaking invitation or a professional engagement. I do not sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.

How the contact form works

This is a static website with no database of its own. Form submissions are delivered to my email inbox by FormSubmit (opens in a new tab), a third-party form service. FormSubmit processes your submission in order to deliver it, under its own terms and privacy policy, and its servers may be located outside South Africa. My email is hosted by an external provider whose servers may also be outside South Africa.

Analytics

The website uses Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives technical information such as your browser type, approximate location and the pages you view. I do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab).

Fonts

The website’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.

How long information is kept

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond to them and to maintain a reasonable record of professional correspondence. You may ask for your enquiry to be deleted at any time.

Your rights

Under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. To do so, send a request through the enquiry form.

If you are not satisfied with my response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) (opens in a new tab).

Security

The website is served over an encrypted connection, and I take reasonable steps to protect the information you send. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not include sensitive information, such as identity numbers or financial details, in your message.
